The Smith Brother's of Pride Custom Art and the James W. Smith Printing Company are proud to see the enthusiasm for the Ducks Unlimited calendar project they produced in conjunction with regional director, Rodney Schlafer.
In support of the calendar fundraiser, Chapter-Chair, Frank Lemcke and committee hosted a Chain-O-Lakes Chapter Bear's Bash and Calendar release party this past Sunday at the Chain-O-Lakes State Park.
Schlafer approached Matt Smith, who serves on the chapter's committee, about the idea of producing a high-end 2013 fundraising raffle calendar and within a month the notion rapidly moved through idea, concept, design, printing and distribution. The handsome calendar is designed by www.SmithandSalter.com and highlights colorful waterfowl images and weekly firearm photos, which serve as the weekly gun drawing prizes.
The individually numbered calendars rely on the Illinois Pick 3 lottery numbers to award weekly winners of firearms manufactured by the likes of Browning, Mossberg, Smith & Wesson, Marlin and Remington. In all, Illinois Ducks Unlimited will award one gun every week throughout the entire year.
Nearly sold-out, the $50 conservation fundraising calendars can be procured by contacting Rodney Schlafer at 815-403-3597 while they last.
The Pride Custom Art Team donated a custom print to the Janesville, Wisconsin Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation banquet on August 3, 2012. A generous supporter of the conservation group paid $330 for the keepsake with all the proceeds going directly to RMEF.

The Pride Custom Art team is please to announce its participation in BreastFest 2012! Working with good friend and event planner, Kevin Tuley, we will be donating to the event's silent auction: a one-of-a-kind keepsake showcasing the 2011 BreastFest of Champions Avon Walk Team.
Now in its third year and back by popular demand, BreastFest will take place at The Fuel Room in Libertyville, Illinois, on April 21, 2012 - doors open at 6:30pm. At 7:30pm, headliner, Michael McDermott and Heather Horton will again get the charity rocking. With Rod Tuffcurls and The Bench Press taking the stage at 10pm.

Growing-up as scouts and being a campin' family, the Smith brothers continue and covet spending family time on the water or in the woods. And giving our time and resources to conservation groups make perfect sense for us. In addition, we had the opportunity to donate the Northern Illinois Police K-9 Memorial, a non-profit organization to memorialize and honor all police K-9′s that have served Northern Illinois or that died while serving the citizens of Northern Illinois.
The custom art showcases Officer Deputy Fanella and his dog Sinbad. In June 2004, Sinbad, loyal and faithful Police K-9 partner of Deputy Anthony Fanella, lost his life due to heat stroke. At that time there was no memorial location to honor Sinbad’s service to the citizens of Lake County.
Deputy Fanella has made it his personal mission that Sinbad’s memory not be forgotten. It has taken many years, but on 1/11/11 Northern IL Police K-9 Memorial was incorporated. The non-profits goal is to assure that all Police K-9’s that have served Northern Illinois will have a place to be honored and memorialized.
